We're going to learn how to use an IRC program called "mIRC", which is adapted to the Windows platform.
However, there are many other IRC programs that can be used as well, including Global Chat, Netscape Chat, WS-IRC, and Homer. But since all IRC programs are pretty much the same, if you understand how to use one IRC program, you'll have no problem using another.
